World’s Best Cliff Divers Defend Titles

INTERNATIONAL: The world’s best cliff divers have successfully defended their titles. Rhiannan Iffland and Gary Hunt were competing in the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series on Wednesday in Puglia, Italy. They both put on superb displays and clinched their respective championships, one event before the end of the series.

The weather didn’t put in a superb display. It was getting so bad that the day’s four rounds were condensed into three, but it was enough. Australia's Iffland only needed a fifth-place finish to take the trophy, but she dived her way to first, clinching her 12th straight win over three seasons and her fifth Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series title.

Hunt also didn’t hold back, nailing a difficult back 3 somersaults with 4 twists to take his third consecutive win in Italy and his ninth World Series title.
